Dreaming of beaches on the Lardossian coast, Dave plots a steady course, chasing the setting sun westward from the Chicago outpost before launching into deep orbit, keeping the D in IDM in a way that only the UK lads can. Down the home stretch, sit back in the rhythm with long exposures for some chord-driven cornerstones. Check the newer piano-driven smoothness from Martyn, sublime vocal hypnosis from Cassy, and sparkling melodics from Alex Cortex.

Dave takes us for a guided tour through dusky soft shadows and nighttime machines, leading into more relaxed territory before revisiting those chunky Chicago roots. New dubstep/techno genre-crossing sounds blended with their forerunners round out the meander. Too many great new cuts to mention all of them, but Stereociti lays down a thick, clean groove with Drexciyan flourishes, Joy Orbison offers you a rainbow-colored glowstick, and DJ Sprinkles goes beyond deep.

Our cruising velocity throttles only slightly, guiding the ship into Plant43’s landing electro-bass, followed by a moody take-off that smoothly banks left into the evening stars. Cool strings from Strictly Rhythm circa 1991, and advanced hybrid sounds from Martyn anchor the journey!

Dave starts the night with a sunset of hazy feedback, a cluster of scintillating Chain Reaction chords, and then onward into the starry skyway. This set was recorded live at Chicago's Empty Bottle in May of 2007, opening for Berlin's Monolake, and was performed using Ableton's Live software.
