Date: December 16th 2009

Dave takes us for a guided tour through dusky soft shadows and nighttime machines, leading into more relaxed territory before revisiting those chunky Chicago roots. New dubstep/techno genre-crossing sounds blended with their forerunners round out the meander. Too many great new cuts to mention all of them, but Stereociti lays down a thick, clean groove with Drexciyan flourishes, Joy Orbison offers you a rainbow-colored glowstick, and DJ Sprinkles goes beyond deep.

Big hello from Chicago! Glad you found us.
You are subscribed to our mix update emails. We generally upload mixes monthly on http://SonicSunset.com. The email tells you when a new mix was added to our website, with a tracklist and links to download the file.

To keep things fresh, the MP3 file of each show only stays up on our website for a month or two, and then is replaced by newer mixes as they come out. Unfortunately we can't keep ALL of our mixes online indefinitely. (Though we DO encourage you to share our past mixes far and wide!). New for 2008, we added a "From the Vault" section that will feature older mixes or special 'feature' shows from the past we think deserve another listen - http://sonicsunset.com/from-the-vault

We had an FM broadcast radio show every Friday night for 7+ years in Chicago and recently moved to distribute our mixes via our website only. We are a completely non-commercial & independent program (no advertising), and we'd like to keep it that way. So if you're like what we're playing, tell a like-minded friend, blog/link to us, mention us on your discussion forums and podcasts. Word of mouth from listeners who 'understand' such a wide style of selection is what keeps us going.

Sonic Sunset is elsewhere online too:
